We’ve recently completed initial renovations on our Support Office in Urbana, IL. This was a multi-million dollar interior and exterior investment for the 40,000 square foot facility.
“After months of construction, we’re thrilled that our initial Support Office renovations are complete. Since moving in the Kenyon Rd. facility in 2019, it’s been a goal to create a modern, up-to-date working environment for our leadership and administrative support team members,” said Todd Petersen, chief executive officer of VitalSkin. “Our commitment to making a positive economic impact on Champaign-Urbana was at the forefront of our Support Office site selection and these new renovations. As a longtime Champaign-Urbana resident myself, I’m excited for the opportunities this will create for the local workforce.”
The Support Office houses our leadership and administrative support teams, which provide practice management and office services, business development, HR, IT, accounting, marketing, revenue cycle management, regulatory compliance, Medicare compliance, supply chain management and facilities management to VitalSkin practices. These initial facility renovations include updated work areas and offices for current and future team members, conference rooms and exterior building updates. Currently, the Support Office houses 32 team members. With the building updates, we plan to add more than 100 additional positions over the next five years.
“Creating an ideal workspace will help us create more community employment opportunities and ensure current team members have the ability to perform at a high level,” said Jeremy Youse, MD, chief medical officer at VitalSkin. “That’s very important since we exist to support dermatologists and their teams.”
We contracted Broeren Russo Builders Inc. and KAP Architecture in Champaign, IL for the construction renovations. Broeren Russo has over 40 years of contracting and construction services in sectors such as healthcare, schools, recreation, hospitality and food service, commercial office and more. KAP Architecture has over 25 years of experience working with a variety of local clients of various sizes.
Prior to us moving into the Kenyon Rd. building in 2019, the space was occupied by the National Council of Teachers of English. As part of our next construction phase for the Support Office, we’ll be converting part of it into a fully functional, state-of-the-art dermatology practice. The future opening date for the practice is scheduled for July 2022.
