Digital engagement with patients has become a critical way to communicate with them effectively. Healthcare used to be driven by location, everything from receiving care to making payments was done in person and so it was easy to engage patients because they came to the provider. Technology has turned this pattern upside down. Consumer industries have changed with the growth of mobile devices and online access to expand their reach and give consumers 24/7 access to the services and products they offer. Healthcare is taking advantage of this to advance patient communication, increase convenience and keep patients better informed about their care.
With that in mind, helping supported practices continually give patients more convenient options for scheduling and managing their care is always on our minds here at VitalSkin. In order to drive patient convenience, communication and engagement even further, we’ve partnered with Klara.
Founded in 2013, Klara makes it easy for healthcare providers to securely communicate with patients and with each other, without worrying about HIPAA compliance or losing track of patient information. Klara has been proven to increase patient satisfaction and reduce time spent on administrative work.
With Klara, VitalSkin-supported practices using ModMed now have the ability to send appointment electronic reminders and other communication materials. In addition, patients have the ability to self-schedule their appointments without having to call. This will alleviate many of the administrative responsibilities that practices have to deal with and give them more time for patient care.
Our Klara rollout kicked off in Q2 of 2022 and we will continue onboarding more supported practices the rest of this year and into 2023.
